I'm interested in entomology, I've never seen this little critter, which I have found out is a springtail. Can you give me some info please, for starters how big is it??? It looks very very small.

My cute specimen was 1 or 2 mm long. I find the collembolas in my garden, they live in rotten wood on the ground and can be easily seen when the weather is wet.
The picture was taken with the help of a Raynox DCR-250 Macro Lens.
