I really like the considered thought put into this shot, the symmetry, the village in the distance whispers to us of life by the water, the dof you used is splendid. Really a great shot.
It's interesting how we can have opposite reactions to a shot. Although I appreciate what you were trying to accomplish, I had the same kind of feeling as when we get a power line in a picture. That said, the detail on the rope is on the money.
