The crop could enhance this to bring us closer to the focal point. Blue and Magenta snow? Were you shooting on A mode or M because manual would give you more creative power. I like that you actually saw firewood and shot it!
Thanks for the thoughtful comment! I shot this in S mode. The color of the snow is actually quite accurate, a function of the shadows and latitude. I had considered cropping it further, but felt that the snow in the foreground reinforced the frozen nature of the wood (some of which was burned today).
You need to visit Thailand, I hope your cross country move brought you closer to the Pacific.
We WERE on the Pacific. Now it's the north Atlantic. Very different oceans.
