This is by someone who has an eye for a photo, well done Wayne for seeing and taking this, simplistic but effective
Thanks.
Really love the minimalism to this dramatic post. The black works so well....top marks in my books.
Thanks.
I echo the comments of the others. A great shot - well spotted. Would the shot have been better with less black below the cycle - as much black building as there is sky to balance the shot? Maybe but then it works well as it is.
Thanks Adam773.
The large swatch of the "black" building is meant to "highlight" and give complete prominence to the bicycle, and too much sky here would decrease the "drama" of a pedestal for the eye-catching bicycle "parked" on a rooftop.
In any case it was a grey uninteresting sky and also not a "sky photo"
BTW, is the bicycle photographed from the top or from the bottom?
Shift your eyes around and you can see different perspectives of the bike.
Having read your comments I went back to the photo to see if there was an illusion here and finally my eyes adjusted and yes, we could be looking down on the bike and not up....FANTASTIC. I love these kinds of shots that stir up my gray matter.
Thanks for taking the trouble.
It was well worth it!
Congrats Wayne for this beautiful eye twister!
Thanks.
Well done Wayne
Congrats on this win.
