I had occasion recently to visit the area where I grew up and stop by a distant relative's house who I hadn't seen since childhood. When he described punching the code into the pad to open the gate, and then drive a half mile up to the house with the white car I assumed he lived in a gated community. But no, it was just the gate to his house - you should have seen the house! I obviously went into the wrong business. (5 years and 536 days ago)
Ha...well at least he let you in! Yes, this speaks loudly of affluence, snobbery, exclusiveness. Did your "distant relative" give you a glass of water to drink? I have been in 'posh' homes where the touch of human kindness is missing....not even a cup of tea....ahhhh. I like this photo because it was taken from the inside of the car further punching out the story of maybe you got in or maybe you just drove off. Nice sharp photo.
I'm sure that's true many times. I think if I even had close to this kind of money I'd feel very uncomfortable living behind a "gate." But, this guy is actually one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet.
Howdie stranger!
