I studied your photo in high resolution. It looks better there but there is lens distortion and you were in a cramped spot I'm guessing. See those shoes on the margin line? Our teachers used to tell us that to leave objects on a margin line, half in and half out of the frame causes the viewer's eye to go there and our brains try to complete the picture. With our eyes there, and our brain working trying to complete the photo the interest on the main focal point gets lost and the viewer quickly leaves the photo. Our goal, as photographers is to try to keep the viewer lingering longer on our images. I like the textural quality of this door and oh if only it could talk the stories that it would tell!
It was a very small corridor to move in.. this was the only possible way to gat it whole in the picture... it's not my best door. but it had some character being that old.
