This window depicts the work of the RNLI which is run by volunteers and is reliant purely on donations, people have been rescueing people at sea for a very long time, not sure when it started, they go out in all weathers to rescue people stranded at sea around the uk.
Over the years quite a few have lost there lives and they all have day jobs near the boathouse and when a whistle goes off, they drop everything and go out to rescue people at sea,and like I said they don,t even get paid.
Total RESPECT for these people. (5 years and 471 days ago)
YOU BET. What a fabulous piece of art done by this stained glass aritist and you have captured it well. Now that I study the piece more closely I'm beginning to wonder if it is indeed stained glass or painted as the curves are smooth and the glass painted...never mind. Your photo does justice and thank you for the description.
Think it was stained glass.
Howdie stranger!
