OUCH! I am glad I didn't need to have my neck stretched as a kid. I can't think of anything more uncomfortable than wearing so many metal rings around your neck. Do they take them off at night?
I tried them on and thought I would collapse. They are heavy as h*ll, give them headaches these women suffer. Their necks are NOT stretched (interestingly enough) but their clavicles and shoulders are pushed down giving them a look of a stretched neck. Some do sleep with these rings, the younger girls hate them but have to wear them for the tourists otherwise they will get deported to Myanmar....a brutal regime. Thank you for stopping by.
Forced to wear them under threat of deportation? That is terrible. It would never happen in Australia. No wonder so many refugees flee the places that have such barbaric rules and traditions.
