strangely, and probably not by design, the lighting in this is in reverse to that it should be.........the logs are lit, while the live tree trunk is in the dark....

correct me if I am wrong but this one looks definetly retouched on PS - look at the light parts around the ends of the branches and around the trunk- it is almost glowing(poorly masked) but I love the composition anyway!

hrmmmm, furiousone... at first I thought there wasn't really anything, but I looked at it under 400% magnification and you DO see some evidence along the trunk etc. Author?

I have just retouched the contrast of the sky when the pic was in color. For the contest, I have only desaturated the pic
