A TOWN is set to become the first in the UK to ban smoking OUTSIDE pubs and cafes. Landlords and owners will lose their £250-a-year licence for drinking on pavements if anyone lights up. Under the new regulations, smoking will only be allowed outside in private beer gardens.

i like mood,,
Like durty/broken glass and a chair... I wonder: did you write this word or it's already been there?
It was already there, Olga. I saw that word and the light shining through the glass and I thought "perfect." It wasn't until I started processing that I even noticed the chair in the shot! (it was really, really dark in there).
Thank you for the answer author! Light, chair and word - all together - beautiful combination! GL
i wihs "alone" wasn't there... but still good
Had the word "alone" not been there I wouldn't have bothered with the shot. In my opinion that's what makes this picture truly noteworthy.

Sorry about all the dust, this is a scanned negative, and I don't have photoshop to get rid of all the blemishes. But I shoot film, I also develop my own film, and I print my own pictures. I currently only work in black and white. (5 years and 3161 days ago)
Nice photograph, but if you seriously want to be a photographer, you will have to find a way to avoid dust.
Good mood! GL
friiskiwi, it is easier said than done. I must ask, do you do film photography? And if you do, do you do your own developing and such? I don't means to be condescending, if I come off that way, I'm curious because if you do, then you would understand that getting dust in inevitable. Trust me, the first scan of the negative was way worse when it came dust. There are just some you can't win with. Any serious photographer would know that. That's why the invented editing programs.
I have been doing photography since the early 60th. So even though I don't do my own prints from film anymore, believe me I have done plenty of film processing and printing.
Then I'm sure you can understand how hard it is to get rid of dust. I scanned this negative 4 times, and this was the best result I got. Some of the spots I couldn't get rid of, no matter how many times I tried, I think the negative might have been scratched there. When I get photoshop, I'll tough p all my negative scans, and then they will hopefully look perfect

a beautiful photograph
I like this photo, but I see a reoccurring theme among the submission, and however nice it is, it isn't unique at all. it is different from some of the others, but I'm kinda tired of seeing pictures of people alone on a beach.
A personal exhaustion from a specific type of photo is not what the contests are about. When you have a specific theme then you are bound to get similiar photos. There is no need to insult the author for their vision.
Nice concept and beautiful photo author!
Very good right on theme
