Both of these things, while ragged and old, mean so much to me. I was wrapped in the blanket when I was in the hospital after I was born, and I've been going to sleep snuggled with it for close to twenty years now. ^^; ((Hey, I'm allowed to be a kid, too.)) The teddy bear's ears are all smushed in, his limbs are stuck in a funny position, and his white fur has turned grey from the same- I got him when I was two years old, and have had him wrapped in the Blanket ever since.
Despite all of their holes and worn fabric and faded colors and ripped bows/edging, these are two of the most precious objects to me. (5 years and 3152 days ago)
what a beautiful horse..i wish i had both of them !
Lovely story and photo, but I don't think you can do this kind of selective desaturation, It might pay to provide a SBS, if you have done it in a way that is allowed.
No on the desaturation? :/ Well, I'll upload an SBS, then.
What ways wouldn't be allowed? I'm just curious- are there limitations?
I'm afraid there are lots of limitations;
What Tools/Alterations Can't I use?
As a general rule, you should stay away from selecting, masking or brushing parts of the picture. Tools to avoid are:
- 6.19.: Brushes in any flavor
- 6.20.: Clonestamp
- 6.21.: Patch
- 6.22.: Masks and any selections (magic wand, marquee, lasso)
- 6.23.: Adding or moving objects manually
- 6.24.: Liquify/warp
- 6.25.: Vignettes, watermarks or frames and borders
- 6.26.: Sketchy effects or filters that alter the original photo significantly
- 6.27.: Copy/Paste
Keep in mind that
@friiskiwi- Auuuuuugh.... Thank you very much for letting me know. I looked for contest rules/limitations like this, but I couldn't find them. :/ Can you please let me know where I can read this (and the limitations on other contests as well), so that I can avoid causing people trouble from now on?
Thanks again for the time you're taking to correct me. I really appreciate it, even if the learning process is frustrating (since I'm doing everything wrong).

Great shot, why didn't I think of my teddy, he would be perfect in this contest I had him for 32 years.
@erathion- thank you so much!
