Underexposed. But still beautiful.
purposely underexposed
For what reason? The colors would pop with a better exposure. Right now the bottom right corner is the brightest, thus it pull my eyes from the vase and flowers.
with a slight increase in the exposure, the orange and the yellow flowers burnt up.have tried al the white balances.found this the best.
i could hav arranged it better if i had lighting, but that tungsten light in the only light in the room.
u think shooting at another time of th day should help?the setup doesnt have a window nearby but.
Does your camera have a setting for shooting under tungsten light? Nice composition but the lighting is letting it down.
SohCahToa, i know you are trying to help the author but i do not agree with what you have done.
I think it's fine that sohcahtoa did that, but you should have sent them in a private message and not posted so everyone could see, and compare, to the actual entry
Sorry I am new to the group. Did not know that I was not suppose to do that.

Wow to the light in the eyes, I am always working hard to get such light and color in the eyes on my subject. The perspective is a little high, the picture could have been improved if you got a little more level with the dogs eyes. But I know how it is with animals and that collies in particular. I love the dog, someday I want to own a working border collie, since I have a small flock of sheep.
Gorgeous dog...great capture author...gl

Nice addition with the background clock
I agree about the clock. Might crop a little from the top
thanks...yea i agree about cropping it. i was going to origianlly but for some reason decided not to..is there a way to crop and resubmit without starting all over again?
You can crop (or otherwise edit entries) and click on the "My Stuff" link at the top. Once there, click on "My Contest Entries," which will show your entries in the current week's contests. From there you can upload your revised entry. Good luck.
I like the mood of it all but the first thing my eye went to was the light on top of the lady's head...it almost looks as if she is wearing it as a hat.
haha yea you're right...i'll def try to notice distractions like that in the future, before i take the shot! thanks
