6 Shot Pano w/ 17mm Lens (5 years and 3392 days ago)
nice
How did you do this as "fish eye?" If it's a composite of a number of shots, wouldn't each be fish-eyed individually?
Using a 17 mm lens from a fixed position resulted in this effect...the effect is produced in the fact that at 17mm at the far left and right makes things look far away and gives a wide view (vertically) in the center where you are closer...when the images are com-posited in CS4 using the auto/correct for distortion (the minor barrel distortions) settings, this is the effect you get....and you have to hold the camera in the portrait position to take the raw shots for the final image. You won't get this effect at say 28mm and above.
I am able to produce a semi-fish eye effect in pano images as long as I'm fairly close to the subject and down at 17mm on my 17-85 zoom. I have another example of this in my 1 vs 1 portfolio and will be adding some to my album soon (20+ shot images that really give a distorted effect)
It's like the "big nose" effect when someone or a dog gets too close to a wide angle lens....only on a larger scale...
Thanks for the info/explanation
Yes, thanks for the info. I'd like to try that (except I'd need to get that lens.) ;-p
You could have better stitched it together.
Perhaps in the future I could....do you have any useful tips on how to do that??? So far this is my 3rd pano attempt and I need some good information on technique
Nice image but needs a straighten..
