It seems more of the image is in focus, rather than out. Cropping closer to the camera would have made for a better shot. Sorry I did not suggest something sooner.

If you bumped up the contrast and brightness a tad, this would have been a nicer entry.

I'm not agree,jawsh about contrast. If author would add even little more contrast, he(she) would end up with blown highlights. May be it would better look in the b&w though

I think a high res would have helped. It's hard to tell but it seems a little soft and maybe slightly OOF in this res but once again, hard to tell.
