This gorgeous sand sculpture of a mermaid was created on a beach in Holland...my photo (5 years and 3350 days ago)
This is freakin cool, I mean I've never figure out how to do a little castle, I can't even imagine doing that!
Lovely sculpture, but the photo is a little flat.
I have to agree with the flat comment, the image is a little lifeless, it lacks umph!
If shot in the mid day sun with the light above it would show off the shadows and textures
Oh man i love this! Whoever built that sculpture is a genious very well done and the best of luck to you author
I agree teebone!
I took this a while ago, before I had a half decent camera. It's a scan from a film photo. I'll see if I can dig it out and rescan it on better quality, or photograph the photo...
All it really needed was a bump in contrast.

... it freightens me a little...
I SO AGREE WITH NATOR!!
Yea I think B&W would be amazing but I love the face...Good Job Author!
i did it, but i dontn know if i can change mi submit?
Yes you can. Go to "my stuff", select "my contest entries", go to this shot and click on "edit shot" (underneath the shot). This way you can change your shot.
Wow... it was worthwhile!
pity I had already voted for it...
This is a cool shot. i agree the B&W looks great. BUT... ya know what? I think I'd rotate it 90 degrees so it was vertical. It would look like she's walking through from another dimension.
Lovely, but unfortunately, selective editing isn't allowed.
What do you mean by "selective editing" friiskiwi? I thought one can improve the shot at any time and edit it as many times as necessary. Am I wrong?
Selective editing, means changing just part of the image. You can change the whole photo into Black and white, but not just part of it. Any editing you do has to apply to the whole image.
Personally I'd love us to be allowed selective editing.
You can use selective editing Fiiskiwi .... it's called Photoshop Contests lol
thanks,
And congrats to you as well!
