By diffused, are you referring to bright white behind ? The only editing done was slight adjustments to saturation, exposure brightening and clarity. Without selective editing, this seemed the only way to soften the leas then perfect teen skin. Suggestions welcome

The selective editing would have been better, this editing doesn't flatter the photo at all. The saturation definitely needs to come down.I would increase the contrast as well, and to be honest, you don't need perfect skin to have a perfect photo. I've taken portraits of dirty faces that were beautiful. Perfect skin is just societies ideal

By blotchy I assume u mean the harsh peach on forehead - and I can understand u seeing it that wat but it's actually makeup. The original purpose of this shoot was with peacock feathers and the blush accented the peacock feather. In this particular shot it does look different (as in not as good). Selective editing would be nice but alas against the rules.

@ Author, fine image and entry indeed....well done IMHO, and bonus points for choosing to do the 'right' thing and stay away from violating the rules of the site as a trade-off for a slightly 'less-than-perfect' image...As far as I'm concerned...this is a great image, I favor very hi-key and low-key photos, this is a great example of hi-key portrait.

While this photograph is stunning, the little girl was just recently used in another contest, thus revealing your identity author. Maybe be you can retake the picture, change her hair style, and the dress if possible.
If you scroll through you'll see other entires using shots with the same model, setting and dress. Its a true downside of the anonymity requirement on this site. If you do a shoot with someone and you really like the series, you're only able to use one shot out of an entire series of photographs. I couldn't tell you how many times I've avoided doing that. The reason I elected this was because there are other entries I've seen where I know who it is based on the model or models used, some of them back to back. I'll try to find a different one to upload, however I wanted to speak my peace and hope if I remove this the others all get removed as well. There are at least 3 I can think of in just this week.
You are quite right, and I would appreciate if you red flag them when you see them. We have got a little kinder lately and let some stay, if they are at least a few weeks apart. However, as your photo won last week, and the girl was so remarkable, it really did stand out.
The photo you removed was also stunning, give it a few month and try again.
This is why I remembered it so well, because it was such a great pic., and author I too had to remove a picture once for the same reason, as I use my pets as my subjects quite often.
