Awe, poor thing! That was sweet of you to give it a bug! Nice shot too!
This one actually had a broken leg but it was too sad to photograph. I found a bug and gave it to him so he didn't have to move to get food :) (5 years and 3140 days ago)

This is really cool....but what did you do to it to make it look that way?
Quite different, and very good.
Thank you for the comments,
Kellie you just had to ask didn't you? This I believe was quite literally the least technical setup I've ever done. For the BG I used orange tissue paper, it was taped hanging from my cupboard with the light from the kitchen sink behind it so I could get that glow. the irises were in a lemonade pitcher about 1 foot in front of it. The flowers were to dark then so (and here's where I get lazy) my buddy and I used the flashlights from our Droids to light the flowers! I was using a canon 50mm lens set to f/2.2 to give the very low dof. Then it was just a matter of pulling it into lightroom and adjusting the curves, fill, vibrancy, and boosting the oranges and purples a bit.
Lazy or not...wonderful! Thanks for the explanation...us newbies always need direction on good lighting!
Ahhh, I see. Very nice setup. I was kind of wondering why the edges of the flower looked the way they do. Is it possibly from Curves?
It's a combination of curves and color shifting, I took the blue levels down and that desaturated the fringe around the flower giving it that soft halo look.
Extra points for your creativity when you took this shot = )

Nice finding. GL author
Great capture of an interesting sculpture. Can you tell us more about the sculpture?
Glad to answer your question Friiskiwi
The sculpture is situated on the door of Santa Maria degli Angeli's Church, in Rome.
You can find more information about this church (one of the most beautiful in Rome) here:
