The colors are a bit odd, it's very pinkish, but a nice photo!

At first when I looked at it, I thought the same thing as MossyB...but the more I look at it with the subject matter, it may actually work. I was thinking black and white might look good too.

but atleast it defines "window shopping"--- for me good luck !

i guess the author is going for the "toy camera" or "hipstamatic" look?

author says:

indeed I meant to give it a more vintage/hipstamatic and pinkish candy look.

My wife makes these delicious home made Truffles, and I made the candy "sushi"

The truffles: Make ganache by mixing heavy cream and chocolate and flavor it with Grande Marnier or cherry liquor. Then, dip the ganache into melted chocolate and let it set.

The "sushi:" mix a little corn syrup into coconut flakes. Unroll a fruit rollup and cover it with the coconut mixture. Place a Twizzler (get the ones in different colors) on top of the coconut, about an inch from the edge of the rollup. Fold the edge of the rollup over and roll it over with a little pressure to firm things up. Take a serrated knife and cut the rollup into sushi sized pieces. (5 years and 3030 days ago)

Candy sushi is so cool! I think sweetened coconut is much better than rice crispies. Have you seen the Japanese kits that make candy roe?

I would have done just one or the other in the shot and possible tried it at an angle, not straight down.

Some great looking candy, but I'm sure you could take a much more interesting photo of them, but I guess by now you have eaten them all.

avatar kekskruemel

sushi candy that's a great idea

author says:

Thanks for your comments. I agree I probably could have taken a more artistic shot, but this was a quick snap before we sent these off to my son. But I thought it'd be fun to share the recipes etc. Yes, they are long gone.
