One of King Ludwig's castles
In Germany (5 years and 3461 days ago)
Sorry author but are you sure this castle is Gothic ? One of the first particularity of Gothic is that the arches are pointed, here, they are rounded !
NEUSCHWANSTEIN Yes it is Gothic, look it up
Ludwig II of Bavaria chose the site of a ruined medieval tower for Neuschwanstein Castle, set on a high rocky outcrop amid the forests of the Bavarian Alps. He commissioned ideas for both the exterior and the interior decoration from Christian Jank. the court stage-designer, which were to be inspired by the world of Richard Wagner's operas. The walls of the major rooms were painted with frescos of Germanic legends, and especially the story of Lohengrin, the early medieval chivalric hero with whom the mad Ludwig II identified closely. The Hall of Song emulated a hall of the same name in the Gothic castle of Wartburg, on which Wagner based a stage set for his opera Tannhauser, the Grotto of Venus was built to recreate the Venusberg scene; and paintings in the studio which led to it, as well as the throne room, were reminiscent of the Hall of the Grail in the opera Parsifal. All expressed Ludwig's obsession with the world of Wagner, and emphasized the fairytale setting.
German Gothic style, Neuschwanstein castle
Sorry author, I don't agree.
Everything I read about this castle says that it's built in a "late romanesque" style.
And when you look at the windows, you see that they are not pointed. If they are not, it's not Gothic.
Even thought it's a great picture with a great mood.
Once again, I looked it up, It is German Gothic style
maybe to read more it says of this castle: "The shapes of Romanesque (simple geometric figures such as cuboids and semicircular arches), Gothic (upward-pointing lines, slim towers, delicate embellishments)"
IMO this is fine and Good luck.
What is Gothic Architecture?
Gothic Architecture emerged following the Romanesque style of Norman Architecture. Gothic architecture is the term used to describe the building styles which were used between 1200 to 1500. The different types of English Gothic Architecture styles are divided into three phases.

Beautiful building. Is this the one Disney ripped off?
Yes Disney did rip it off! this photo was actually taken with color film. The mist in the morning made it look black and white!
Hey Artifats, congratulations! They took my photo off!!
Well ... It's perhaps just because I was right and not the only one to think the same ...
Sour grapes

Nice one - I think it could have been better by having the people 'enter' the shot rather than leaving it.
Thank you FallingHorse! You are right, but I couldn't really ask them to walk back.
