Author, your photo is on theme, but could be improved.
Photographing against the light is always difficult, using a fill in flash is probably the best option for spur of the moment snaps, can be used even when you are in front of a window, you just need to move so you are at an angle to the window to avoid the flash reflecting.
Use of flash would also allow you a smaller f-stop, so you would get a sharper photo and the ISO would be lower, giving much less noise.
This does look like you have arrange the photo, so a tripod and extra light would have been much better.

cool photo of the cat. id like to know how u managed to blend the cat into the background
i cant do any fancy stuff or anything, the background was a darker one and i just played with the lighting and contrast a little. and this is what i got, very unintentional really. and thank you for the comment
