Willie wagtail chicks protected by one of the parents. (5 years and 898 days ago)
This was painted by an artist named Miller in the 1870's. He lived outside of Denver, Colorado in a little village named Georgetown. When his granddaughter needed money, she would pull one of his paintings out of her attic and sell it. I remember my family getting this when I was a little kid. We had a Golden Retriever at the time, and that fly on the handle was so realistic it used to drive her nuts! :-) (5 years and 2916 days ago)
Great back story behind this photo! The photo tilts down to the right a bit, if you level it, it will be a visually stronger entry.

How can we NOT fall in love with this well taken image with the focus on the two newborns/err newly hatched. Great composition, considered dof, natural colours, good marginal space all round. Top notch.
Thanks, I appreciate your comment
