Believe me or not, but this is the well known Chambord Castle (one of the most famous "chateau de la Loire" in France).
This was shot during a "sound and light" show.
It is a projection of the history of the castle on the walls of the today castle.
If you have the chace to go there, don't miss that ! It's amazing.
Unfortunately, I didn't have a good lense this day so I had to push the ISOs and the picture is a bit noisy. Hope you'll like it anyway.

Did you have a special lens to get that amount of barrel distortion deliberately, or is that just the way your camera works?

Not sure I like the distortion, I think I would have used a panorama to get the whole building in the image, great tones and focus.
I'm not sure about the fisheye, either... but I love the peeling paint etc.
