The horizon, please

What she meant by that was straiten it but I don't see the horizon as the issue. More like the blown out quality, since the sun is almost directly in front of you.

avatar adeincyprus

Vibeke, sometimes, the picture is more striking by the horizon being off level........it is a modern way of shooting things. but in this case, Jawsh is right, the issue is the sun, not the horizon...........

friiskiwi says:

Thanks Ade, you are of course quite right, but the image just didn't look right, and to me the horizon was the most obvious.

Sand dunes aren't normally straight :s

It does look terribly empty. I like it the way it is.

Thankyou Cocor

Am I reading that sign right? That's in Australia? I wouldn't have guessed that. I knew it had large, arid areas, but wasn't aware it got dunes like that

author says:

You sure are, and it sure is
It's in Tin City, in the sand dunes of Port Stephens. Its aboriginal land.

The more I look at it, the more I like this shot, its fade and dusty colour, the inclination of the stake combining with the slope of the horizon.
Have a look at HR to see details are perfectly shaped.

The angle adds to the picture, but I have never seen clouds inclined to the horizon A little bit of contract boosting would help IMHO as the sun is in the frame and the colours are too washed

author says:

Upped the contrast a little. Thankyou
