Actually it's a lowercase 'a', like Jaded Ink guessed. If you look at it in high res, you'll see that it has a back to it. The moon just happened to be in the right spot.

Very nice, you could try a tad to the left and could shave off the right accordingly. Members here have helped me learn much about a crop.

To have a lot of empty space to the right is Negative Space and is a VERY popular technique in photos. We are all about having our own opinions so whatever you feel works the best for you is awesome!

Wonderful colour.
Pity it misses sharpness on the wings and they are a bit close to the edge.
top of the wings r fluttering... intentionally i did it ..by reducing shutter speed. a bit close to the edge point is noted...
