This kettle must be very antique... it's beautiful!
Thank you, I think it used to belong to my great grand mother, this competition got it polished.
It is certainly on theme, but I think the background is very distracting and takes away from the beautiful kettle. You should play with the curves a bit IMO.
I agree with Locks.... can you reshoot with a darker background? Play with lighting?
You are probably both right, but I have shot a lot of photos, playing with backgrounds and lighting. I'm not totally happy either, but with my set-up, I'm afraid this is the best I could do.
Excellant..Author
The set up is not that bad but the creases in the sheet you used are a little distracting so using a darker background would have probably been much better.

This is my favorite shot of a chimney cap that i designed and built from flat sheets of 20oz copper. The finished dimentions were approximately 7'long by 4'wide and 4' tall. As I built this the copper is covered in a sheet of plastic as to not scratch the metal. After it was all put together I peeled all the plasic off (this took hours in itself) I turned the lights off in the shop and used a flashlight to illuminate the copper. What you are looking at is a view from one of the corners. I have full pictures of this piece installed and I am most proud of the job I did on this. It is truly a one of a kind.
