What is that curly light in the background?
I like it
I'm supposing the light in the background was a flashlight or similar light source with a long exposure? I like it except, because there is so many light curls, the bamboo seems to be fighting for attention. I love how the light gives cross light on the bamboo.
k5683 you are right and the lights are curly too or not?
love the creativity here, a good combination of techniques.
great shot !
Very good work... best of luck author.
Congrats for your first place, Busmav!

My lunch...curly spaghetti :) (5 years and 3473 days ago)
The spaghetti is BOH (blow out highlights).
Is when the light on the subject is so strong that you loose detail.
You should try to diffuse the light with a piece of paper in front of the flash or try other angles(to direct the light)
All so the background is not the best choice( is tooo messy).
Congrats on your 21st place!

Curly cork screw in bottle of wine (5 years and 3476 days ago)
The black background doesn't really work for this picture. It's really hard to see the cork screw itself as its so hidden in the darkness. The cork itself sticks out way more than the corkscrew.
Yea,I know but thanks Shikyo...this is better
Looks much better now. Now you can clearly see the shape of the cork screw and it sticks out really nice.
The background color is much better now, but, you have a very harsh shadow from the flash in the photo...in the future, to lessen the shadow and have a stronger photo, move the subject further from the background and you will get a softer or sometimes non-existent shadow. for small things such as this, a meter or so from the background will do the trick, also a bonus, the shallow dof will blur the background and you will get the result you are looking for, a nice clear subject on a subdued backdrop
thank you itsmymoment...in future I will try that...
Good idea, but the flash is far too harsh, and background too close to the subject. Try again.
Congrats on your 22nd place!
