The sign is a bit crude, and the background could be any type of tree. This would be stronger if it showed that it truly was a cypress.

Doubt if you could still read the sign if included enough of the tree to show what it is.

Depends upon how close the sign would be to the camera. It wouldn't have to be attached to the tree...

Crude sign or not - I think it's clever that the sign is made out of pine...with a little pine needle tucked into the shadows of the sign. Hardly need to see the whole tree to see that it's a cypress - it kind stick out like the proverbial
