Door makes my day (5 years and 495 days ago)
Good catch and I love receiving a chuckle from a photo, yours did it for me this day. If you live near here try taking this during another time of day where you will not have shadows on the doors. I like the composition too, it is a steady, well-balanced photograph with natural saturation. Yellow is always associated with happiness and excitement.
I come by this door 5 times a day
So for 5 times a day you smile. What are those gadgets in the middle of the mouth, is that a mailbox, but it looks like a computerized something?
It is a mailbox with stickers saying if you like or dislike commercial shi. .....

Ahhh cool, we don't have that kind of technology here and just get "shi..." all the time.

old prison door (5 years and 496 days ago)
I studied your photo in high resolution. It looks better there but there is lens distortion and you were in a cramped spot I'm guessing. See those shoes on the margin line? Our teachers used to tell us that to leave objects on a margin line, half in and half out of the frame causes the viewer's eye to go there and our brains try to complete the picture. With our eyes there, and our brain working trying to complete the photo the interest on the main focal point gets lost and the viewer quickly leaves the photo. Our goal, as photographers is to try to keep the viewer lingering longer on our images. I like the textural quality of this door and oh if only it could talk the stories that it would tell!
It was a very small corridor to move in.. this was the only possible way to gat it whole in the picture... it's not my best door. but it had some character being that old.

Yes, two thumbs up for this shot. I bet if you turned it into a b.w. high contrast it would work also...it would be fun to try. I like everything about this...from the warm colour to the details on the door to the "thou shalt not enter" feel. Just a good catch.
thanks still for the good comments
