What a wonderful gift.
Appreciate the sentiment friiskiwi. To think that people actually used such fine crockery, no chopsticks though which probably made from bamboo would have rotted away.
These two bowls are well over 100 years old. Their significance lies in being used for one single meal by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, the first president and founding father of the Republic of China. He came to our small town to raise funds to overthrow the Qing Dynasty just before the Chinese revolution of 1912. My grandfather was a cook at the restaurant and he kept these bowls as souvenirs which are now passed to me. (5 years and 2696 days ago)
