They are armyworms, and no way would have even tryed to get closer...lol

Aren't these also known as Gypsy-moth caterpillars? Because of the nasty nests they spin and they just seem to post up camp anywhere? These things will ravish a tree in no time.

we have those around here. We call them armyworms too. I hate them. They can denude a hillside in no time flat. They couldn't hurt you though. They're just caterpillars

Thanks, first you need to be in a place where you can see them, and then experiment a lot until you get the exposure right, too long and you get start trails..
You also need a really clear sky and no pollution
