Great, great, great photo!!! V+F!!! Beautiful capture! How were settings on your camera set, and what camera did you use?

author says:

GoodOguy - Thank you for your comments. On this image I used my canon 7D -set at ISO 400 - with a canon 100mm lens - aputure at 8.0 and s speed at 1/1600 sec. - I took a number of different images at different settings. I also wanted a little bit of blur in the fast moving wings to show motion but not in the eyes. It was a fun shoot. I am glad you like it.

Good0guy says:

Why did you set it to 400 ISO? You have noise. (I am asking because I am learning ) I can see it was very fun.

(5 years and 2374 days ago)

author says:

GoodOguy - Thanks for asking. No problem with asking and learning. Normally ISO 400 does not produce noise in my camera but I also had the shutter speed at 1/1600. In these contests I use images straight from the camera with a little cropping and a little exposure plus or minus. I can eliminate the noise by running the image in a de-noise app. I was trying for the best mix of speed, depth of field and blur to produce an image I liked that showed the fighting and stop most action. I can clean this image up in other programs that are outside the rules of this contest. I often shoot ISO up to 800 but with lower shutter speed and when I stay around F 8 there is little or no noise. On objects that do not move I do use the much lower ISOs,

Good0guy says:

Thank you for that info, I will try in future to shoot in that settings. Hope I get good captures like you!

Learnt from a passerby that she does not have children, but has dedicated herself for feeding the swans. Backbone like an arch, with a walking stick in her hand she comes near Isar lake with a heavy bag with food for swans and feeds them. Met her several times in the same place, which made me believe what the passerby had told about her. (5 years and 2583 days ago)

To me that would be a squirrel in a bird feeder, not framed by a bird feeder. Perhaps if you crop it a lot closer.

Nice photo!

Nice. Might reduce the yellows just a little, and might consider cropping off the sides so we just see the man's hand's holding the frame (I might go to just to the left of his wrist on the left, and all the way to the frame on the right)
