It's a scan from an actual instant film exposure... should I just crop it out?
I think it would be a good idea to crop the border out.
Its not obvious enough to me that this guy is a waiter. He looks like someone fetching something from the buffet table.
He's a barista (baristo?), which is like a waiter with coffee. That thing on the counter is an espresso machine (and a manual one at that, which is becoming quite a rare sight in our global culture's constant craving for hand-holding automation... could be said in reference to photography too, lol). If you ever go into a coffee shop, be sure to peek behind the counter, and you'll see a similar device.
