Oh, just barely OOF and only in high res and jsut barely noticable. It's a little simple but I like the color and mood you have captured.

Used the candle's own light to make it appear from the dark. To make the candle seem more like out of the dark I slight blew some air on the flame so that it moved. (5 years and 3553 days ago)

It's so simple yet so well focused. GL!

author says:

Thank you. I had very hard time focusing as the auto-focus didn't really work in the dark nor could I really use my tripop becaus my new camera and lens are simply too heavy for it. It makes me really happy to hear that I managed to get it done nicely after all those tries.

Here's a tip.Turn your focus to manual & with the lights on , focus on the fuse of the candle.Spot metering (so the camera gets light from the flame when you turn the lights off & you will have high shutter speed to "freeze" the flame)Turn the lights off & here you are...Try it & you will see that it's easy....

author says:

karaflazz, I did basically what you said. I did use manual focusing because the autofocus didn't really work and spot metering as well. Though, I didn't use the high shutter speed because I didn't want the flame to freeze totally(this way the flame appears little bigger than it actually is because of the movement). The biggest issue with this picture was that I couldn't use the tripod, which made the focusing little hard.
