This butterfly landed just before I took the picture. (5 years and 3200 days ago)
Would love a hi res for this picture! The butterfly looks transparent.
The butterfly is pretty much transparent. It was very beautiful and shocking to me to see a butterfly of this kind.
try cropping it a little tighter, and upload a higher resolution image.
Also I don't think you were shocked to see the butterfly, more likely surprised. No offense intended, my husband still corrects my English after nearly 50 years in English speaking countries.
thanks for the input, i will try that.

Fly casting is not only a hobby but a dedication of timing and lots of practice. This is a demonstration at a Field and Stream challenge. (5 years and 3201 days ago)
Love the position you took when you shot this and the subject matter is great (I've never been fly fishing but I've always been fly curious). I'd rotate the picture a bit though so that the horizon line lays flat and not on an angle. All the best!
ummm... the water is behind him.
(rod between 10 and 2 - let the rod do the work. Left hand should be holding the slack below the first eye - let the line run through your cradled hand)
There were other shots with a smoother line pattern and proper technique., however this one contained the whole line from reel to weight. I corrected the horizon...good suggestion.
Great shot

Great picture, high res is a must see. My only nit pik is that I wish it were a little brighter. Nice shot though.
Nice image, but I would crop it a little closer, so you loose most of the background. Also if you have Photoshop, use curves to increase contrast and saturation, and the photo will be stunning.
Love the little fly on the top right of the leaf.
ty for your comments i have tightened the crop a bit and had a play with the curves (not my strong point)i hope you think this has improved the picture as i personally think it does thankyou so much for the advise keep it coming as its always welcomed to improve myself
You are welcome, definitely looks better now.
Very nice! Love the "extra" bug on the top right of the leaf!
