This is a great stacking job especially the unique pattern on each end to secure the pile. Looks like a beautiful garden setting. Nice catch.

I like the way they stack the wood around the window

Waiting for a cold winter? When winter does come, as it will, the snow will accumulate pretty quickly at the bottom of the "V" and cover up the window pretty quick? But a nice picture though.

author says:

@Wayne: actually there was a roof over the window (that you can't see in the picture) that should prevent snow (or at least part of it) from covering everything
Thank you for your comment

@kyricom: thank you very much. I love that, too!

avatar FallingHorse

Looks like they have been sticking their arm out the window to get wood within reach

Wood for The Pride - created by solkee

Wood for The Pride
Favs: 0SBS: n/aHi-resRank: 8/100Score: 64.8% (0)6079 views

This was the pile of wood being prepared for the paddle steamer Pride Of The Murray.
Taken at F4.2 1/800sec ISO200 so as to focus on the wood pile. Converted to Black & White so as to keep the old world charm. (5 years and 2916 days ago)

Lovely photo with great DOF, I would however crop the tree on the right, that very dark area, they eye keeps going there.

author says:

Cropped as advised, thanks.

avatar Greenacres

Nice pic but if my memory serves me correct then I think the Pride of the Murray is actually not steam powered
