This photo leaves something to be desired in presentation, both the photo and the gelatine...It just kind of "sits there..."

Sorry but flash flatten your picture. Try to shoot without flash. If timepause is too long, set your camera on something stable.
Cables on the top left corner, Tapes behind the plate, frame at the right, plate a the botton right corner ... You should have clean your scene from disturbing objects ...
And for the end ... Why so centered ??? It should be more creative if you don't simply put the plate in the middle of the picture ...
