This little Nut Hatch has no concept of gravity and is a little rocket. I love to watch the bird games over my feeder. (5 years and 2332 days ago)
Now that's different, well done.
Monarch Butterfly during hatching. (5 years and 2987 days ago)

This is a wonderful photo. Talk about being in the right place at the right time! Did you have to wait long to capture this moment, and was it "luck" that you found this subject, or had you been aware of it, and just waiting for it to mature?
You've captured a miraculous moment very well.
Thank you for all your kind words.
And yes I did have to wait for quite a while to capture this.
It first caught my attention when I saw little eggs on the plan (swan plant), then I saw them hatching into little caterpillars which then grew quickly and from that moment on it was hard to keep patient.
It took another few days for the caterpillars to pupate.
Surprisingly I also was able to watch the cocoon change color.
I checked every day for it to finally hatch and was very happy to see that I made it in time.
Sadly the butterfly died the same day... it seemed that something with his right wing wasnt right and he hardly made it to from one plant to the next.
So you could say I watched over this creature from being a very tiny egg to turning into a full grown butterfly.
This is a special shot! Very nice one...
