As opposed to welding 2 pieces of wood together?

Or someone's butt-cheeks together? It's an awesome shot author and I was thinking of the same but I know of no welders so good luck!

Thank you for your comments, everyone! cabldawg71, I did not set a timer for this. It was taken in my father's garage with dim lighting (but not too dim). I set my exposure for 1/200 and my aperture at about f 5.2. I did in fact wear a facemask and I basically just set my camera for continuous shooting and held the button down while the welder did his thing. After adjusting the contrast a bit in lightroom and cropping it down I was left with the image above. Hope this helps!
