It's a beautiful photo, but I feel the tattoo is of minor importance.
Thank you. I felt that I could have just done a close-up of the tattoo, but then it would just be a shot of a tattoo (like so many others). This one, I admit (and by design)), there is a link between the tattoo and Kipling's poem. The tattoo is of more minor importance if that link isn't recognized, but (IMHO) being subtle is not directly linked to the focus/importance. This shot gives the viewer (hopefully) one of those "AHA! I get it!" moments.
I think you both have a good point here however, I would have to agree with the author here.
Unlike many of the offerings for this theme, this one is rich in substance and the overall result is quite appealing IMHO.
Great job Author!
Thank you

It's a bit hard to write with a pen if you don't have ink (5 years and 2879 days ago)
Nice work, a little more light in the shadows and it would have been perfect.
Nice composition, i really like it.
I lightened the mouth of the ink bottle so you can see more of the detail, and that you both for the compliments!
definitely better.

the light on the left (candle) is distracting a little bit,
but for the whole theme, very inspiring setup
Thank you! I admit it's not perfect for me... Someone could make a better composition with the same elements but I didn't manage to...
Well done on your attempt. Other than the distracting light, the background is a little busy - I spent longer trying to make out the cigarette in the test tube in the background (reminds me of a year 9 science experiment). Anyway, in my opinion the simple backgrounds work best.
Thank you for the advice FallingHorse. And the "test tube" is a really nice thin bottle, but too high to stand up ^^
Seems that my picture is not on the road of "victory".
Lol author - in my view, the real victory is being able to accept constructive criticism for what is and taking a little something away from it. That makes you a winner already
