In this black and white photo I used jello that I cut into cubes and half round slices, using a serrated knife to give a different effect. Then I arranged them on a clear glass plate which was lit from underneath. Digital photo. (5 years and 3001 days ago)

Not sure if black and white is the best choice here, if you hadn't mentioned it was Jello, It would be hard to tell.
I thought it was broken glass. Some subjects are not meant for B&W, you need color to provide contrast, especially with transparent objects, like gelatine and glass...
Nice work, never thought of doing a black and white shot, but if I didn't know what this contest was, I would need a moment to figure this out, lol.
Thank all for your input...I certainly toyed with which way to go on this one...black/white vs. color. Something about the blk/wh kept pulling at me and it won out. lol. Maybe I will post a colored version of the same photo when I set up my albums. Thanks again...it helps for my future endeavors.
Good effort and set up. Your choice of a glass plate and lighting was good and would have worked with a recognizable gelatine mold. Good try.
Howdie stranger!
