It is called a compound leaf. It has 8 leaflets. This is no different than saying I see 8 petals on a flower instead of just one flower.

This is perfectly on topic, compound leaves have more than one leaflet, usually several, attached to the same leaf stalk. The entire stalk with all its leaflets come out of the same bud in the spring. The entire stalk and its leaflets will usually fall off in autumn.
