Date unknown. Active; focal plane 7 m (23 ft); green light, 2 s on, 1 s off. 4 m (13 ft) masonry tower with a domed lantern; light shown through a window. Lighthouse painted white with a single horizontal green band.
Located at the end of the breakwater at Laxey, about 10 km (6 mi) northeast of Douglas. Site open, tower closed (5 years and 2483 days ago)

In 1865, the lighthouse came under the direction of the Marine Department and, from 1888, lighthouse keepers became responsible for signalling the state of the tides using a flagstaff. The Boulder Bank lighthouse remained a manned light until 5 December 1915, when one of the earliest automatic lights was installed. The lighthouse keepers left in 1916.
The lighthouse is an octagonal tapering cast iron tower 18.3 metres high. It is painted white so that it is visible by day. The copper dome roof of the tower is capped by a weathervane. Small windows light the internal rooms on four floors linked by staircases. The lantern mechanism is still present and can be used to supplement other harbour lights when required.

shame your highlights got so blown out, a little more detail in the foreground would have improved the shot quite a lot
