A little ambient and some flash..
A speedlight held in a 42" reflected umbrella with a dodgy umbrella bracket.
Constantly worried about seeing the speedlight fall.....
fortunately, No flashes were harmed during this photoshoot (5 years and 3113 days ago)

Better. I still feel to make it a great shot it needs to be pulled in a little more. There is to much black at the bottom. I would crop some out and also a little on the right. Dropping the horizon would make the image not so central looking.Of course this is only my opinion and if you have achieved what you wanted with this image then leave it. Its still a nice shot.

This is a beautiful shot, technically. But there's something about the umbrella that bugs me... maybe that there's no rain, or rainclouds, or sun or, or... I don't know what. But it IS a great shot

Lips in Lamp Light - created by Robart523
I had my model where extremely red lipstick. Then I desaturated the entire image a lot and because red was the only prominent color I think it really pops now. I'd love to select just the lips and really push it further, but that would be for a photoshop contest :) I also had to use a curses move to brighten it up a bit. As well as a bit of overall color correction to give it that sorta green tone, and some contrast adjusting. The whole image was lit by one light bulb in a hallway. (5 years and 3115 days ago)

Thanks!!! I'm rather pleased with it we did take a ton of pictures till I got one where I liked what the smoke was doing. Went through about three cigarettes in an hour (EWWW)
