I don't know if this is on theme, cause it's not an insect. But it really was buried in the earth!
I was in our vegetable garden, digging out the potatoes when I lift some soil and this precious thing was uncovered. I think it was annoyed and a bit dazzled at first, but finally it jumped away... and I didn't have the chance to kiss it!! :) (5 years and 2544 days ago)
There is nothing in the rules that says it must be an insect. You can see the dirt still on him from being uncovered and discovered. Right on theme.

Love this photo. Shows a different side of the toads we see everyday. A lot of people don't know they bury themselves for cold weather.
