Lord Ardhnarishwar/Shiva - created by drskn08

Lord Ardhnarishwar/Shiva
Favs: 2SBS: n/aHi-resRank: 11/11Score: 59.1% (0)20791 views

This statue belongs to Hindu (religion) God shiva. According to hindu mythology :-
God Ardhanarishwara is a combination of the three words 'Ardha', 'Nari' and 'Ishwara' means 'half', 'woman' and 'lord' receptively, which when combined means the lord whose half is woman. It is believed that the God is Shiva and the woman part is his consort Goddess Parvati or Shakti. The Ardhanarishwara represents a constructive and generative power. There is a legend about the Ardhanarishwara form of god.
This is a huge statue,You can see compare the size with people walking at the base of this statue. (5 years and 2967 days ago)

This would have been a stronger composition with the left side cropped off, and perhaps with someone standing near the rail on the right hand side near the lion, to better accent the size comparison.

author says:

I intentionally avoided to crop at the left side to add the small piece of green field and the whole of the lotus like fountain. More over it is one of the 1st shots taken by any camera and i took this shot long back with my Sony cybershot compact camera. Anyways Thank you for suggestion MossyB.

I agree with Mossy B. I would crop off the left so the power lines do not show and I would also crop just a bit off the bottom so that only part of the bottom petals are showing. Just take it into any photo program to crop it. I would also try to bring the saturation up a little bit and possibly curves also. Afterward, go to "My Stuff" "Contest Entries" and find this entry and click on "edit entry" and browse for the new cropped image. Then scroll down to the bottom and make sure you check the box for high resolution and then click submit.

Ok.. done !
