Love it, but it does need some colour correction and some straightening, Also to qualify for this contest, All the people in the photo need to be sleeping.
Suggest you do the corrections and save it for an other contest.

While not against the law because the mall is considered a public place it is better to ask for permision in advance from the mall office.

Actually, in the States, the mall is not public property and there is a sign in the entrance of every mall that has a set of rules of conduct, and photography, videograpy and recording is against the rules and subject to disciplinary action to include arrest...seriously. I've been kicked out of several malls over the years, as they are privately owned and managed, the property owners can and do forbid the photography of their inside property...

The trick is to not use the flash.

sad but true...take a photo for artistic purposes...against the law, but, if you were to catch a robbery in action...you'd be a hero - go figure!?!

same here, in Egypt.. They explain it here -- for security reasons.

A bit too OOF, nice tree though.

It seems more like camera jitter, rather than Out of focus but it can appear as the same, except the lights move in a way that shows the camera was not still. You just needed to steady the shot better.

Very oof. and needs contrast.
