Sometimes you just have to improvise, only problem is, the hotels come up missing more often than not! (5 years and 3206 days ago)

of the puzzle! (5 years and 3411 days ago)
Awesome!!
Fabulous! Since I don't know photography, did you photoshop it also? How did you treat it? Thanks for sharing.
No my friend. No PS at all.
The set up goes like this...
A mirror,1 flashlight & a external flash.
1 piece of a puzzle.
Nikon D90 with 50mm f/1.8 AF Nikkor lens.
Spot metering
F:11
3 sec exposure
iso 125
Using spot metering the camera gets light ONLY from the spot that you want...in this case the puzzle piece so the b/g gets all black!
Increase contrast 2 in PS & thats all.
I love everything about this entry!
so nice as always
Lovely, and the author is no surprise.
Well thought out idea.. the image looks fantastic.
Great simplicity. superb idea..
The "hard" part was NOT .
the set up or the IDEA but to get the lighting exactly as i wanted it.
You see the puzzle's surface is VERY very small to manage it.
To small to give the 3D feeling as accurate as possible!
I try 25-30 times until i get it right (for my taste at least).
The light on the right is the flashlight & the one on the left is the external flash.
The problem was the flash cause it had to light the piece in a way that it wouldn't be BOH (blow out highlights) but in the same time keeps it's 3 dimensional view.
Nice 1! GL!
