Bird monitor - created by Remsphoto

For locations where there are lots of birds, bird chirping and sounds, hang this motion sensor that activates when birds are nearby and transmits their singing to your stereo receiver and speakers. You'd be surprised what the singing sounds like when amplified. Then you get over it, package it up and store it. (5 years and 2704 days ago)

Oh I want one, I miss birds chirping, where I live there is not enough of them. Can you transmit it to my speakers, lol. Very cool, never knew something like that existed =)

Oo...interesting. My LCD screens have square shaped ones instead of round ones like your. Definitely a nice idea!

avatar dinomario10

Cool image. How close did you get? Anyway, my screen has some lines, hardly makes squares Laptop screen...
Well... I wanted to say something, but I forgot.

Texture refers to the properties held and sensations caused by the external surface of objects received through the sense of touch...........this is a pattern, not a texture. the texture in this case will be the screen surface itself!

shikyo, my monitor is a CRT type hence rd pixels;
adeincyprus, from the wixipedia
Pixel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The pixel is the smallest addressable screen element; it is the smallest unit of ... Texel (texture element) and luxel (lux element) are words used to describe ... an image from a set of pixel values, using dots, lines, or smooth filtering

avatar adeincyprus

that still does not make it a texture in the true sense of the word..........and wikipedia is not always right either!!....

sorry author, I have to agree with Ade.

avatar kyricom

I agree with Ade. But, there IS a texture here (as there is with any tanglible object) - it would just be "smooth" from the computer screen.

On a seperate note - as I always preach to my students - never, ever, EVER quote Wikipedia

Half polarized PC monitor - created by Ankonian

Half polarized PC monitor

I took this photo of my hand in front of my computer monitor while holding a pair of polarized glasses so it cut out half the light from the monitor.

However when you do this without a camera you can see the light reflected off the hand and it looks extremely weird, I recommend you try it. However the effect doesn't work through a camera for some reason. (5 years and 3557 days ago)

avatar adeincyprus

not sure your monitor could be considered as a light source.

avatar jawshoewhah

I disagree. I think your light source is fine. If it makes light and is but one source, then it's a light source. GL!

a polarizing filter on the lens might have worked.

The idea is great, but I think that the composition should have been better (imho)
