mosque with Mehmet Taskir singing to start the praying rituals (5 years and 474 days ago)
Although not as old nor imposing as its neighboring Hagia Sofia, the Blue Mosque, being an active worship centre, conveys with such a beautiful interior all the peace and tranquility with which all religions should be practiced. (5 years and 987 days ago)
Ahhh if only "peace and with which all religions should be practiced." A photograph that takes our breath away and your artist's notes cannot help but make us ponder especially in today's time. I wish I had something constructive to say about your image but there is not a thing I would change it is top notch. Congratulations on taking a fine fine image.
Thank you very much for those kind kind words!!
Stunning
Thank you friiskiwi!
Have been in this building, although was on an organized tour,to many people there though, sometimes photos can,t do a place justice but have to say you done pretty good with this one, well done
Thanks Photonut! Being able to properly depict such wonderful architecture makes me very happy!
yes it is good,my ones of this place don,t come anywhere near this.
When you return to the city I suggest you go near closing time, when the crowds are gone.
I agree that this is superlative. How were you able to capture everything from the floor to the ceiling?
Thank you dhoebeke! Was shooted as a vetical panorama.
Congratulations, a well deserved win.

Again with some of your stuff that low perspective, think if you used the worshippers more, would have told more of a story,or maybe that was not possible.
There where hardly any worshippers, it was a day to see how a mosque works, so mainly visitors
fair enough
I really like the low pov (your signature) but do wish that that clump of humanity at the right wouldn't be so amputated it teases the mind.
Could not send them away, but i wanted to have at least 1 prayer in sight. And no visitors. But hey, can't kill them all in 1 day.
You are lucky that they allowed you in. We went to a mosque in Sri Lanka and I was not allowed in....female y'know...dirty y'know. I went to shake the hand of a Muslim young man to say thank you for speaking to me and my husband, he shook my husband's hand and refused mine, jerking away as if I was infected with leprosy!
They are so afraid of you. Hahaha. I hear officials in Austria refusted them in their country if not shaking a womans hand. How's that for a immigration polici.
I think this world is going to hell in a handbasket ( that phrase describes a situation headed for disaster inescapably). Now nobody talks to each other, everyone is plugged into their mobile. We watched a great movie last night called "Do you trust your computer"....if you can get it do so, it's frightening. Stephen Hawking predicted that mankind will end because of AI....oh dear I think I'm rambling and this has nothing to do with your photo...sorry. If you can get the book INFIDEL by Ayaan Hirsi Ali do so....she became one of your parliamentarians....fascinating journey.
I know her from her government days.
