Cool!!!! A drip castle. I didn't know anyone outside of our family actually made them!

The bird is giving me the idea that he had something to do with the making of that castle. What is a drip castle?

This is one of the most speculated graves in the graveyard. The inscription on the headstone reads:

Lily E. Gray
June 6th, 1881 - Nov. 14th, 1958
Victim of the Beast 666

I was wondering when you would enter this! Although the composition is different than I expected, I think it works great. The flower is a nice touch.

author [banned] says:

Just my luck, the flower was already on the grave.

great shot.

avatar kyricom
kyricom says:

wow.... THAT's a creepy inscription. I wonder what they meant by that

author [banned] says:

That's why there's so much speculation behind the grave. Her husband had the head stone made and he was a bit of a nut.

avatar jeaniblog
jeaniblog says:

Awesome capture...perhaps the husband was the 'Beast'

author [banned] says:

I actually did more research on the grave. It turns out that the husband always hated the government and well, he referred to the government as the beast that killed her.

Funny story: As soon as this contest was revealed, I KNEW I wanted a picture of this headstone. I had not photographed one yet (mainly because the headstone is so hard to find. Big cemetery) and had planned out to go shoot it. I had many others I could have used but I just had a feeling this one would cause the most interest. I guess I was right.

Not far from Pt Kenny you will find these amazing sand dunes. It is a bit of a hard task to get up them but once there it is like you have entered another world. (5 years and 3271 days ago)

Remembrances of Long Ago - created by dollmommy

Remembrances of Long Ago

An old stone in a small town. The sky was so great that day that it only enhanced the somber tone of the photo. Only kind of processing was a bit of desaturation, adjusting black levels and sharpened in Camera Raw. I removed any vignette that may have come from the lens but there wasn't much present. the slight desaturation to this one is awesome. makes for a great feel to the piece. nicely done, and good luck.
